Gunnison, UT

Our stop through Gunnison was brief, but it was fun to see the family and catch up. One of the cats had kittens again, so it was fun to play with them and watch them stumble all over the place.

Baker City, OR
Alpacas! On our way out of Utah we stopped at a random gas station, and there was a pin out front with a bunch of random alpacas in it. It was fun to pet them, but a really unlikely place for alpacas.
Before we headed up to our pit stop in Baker City, we visited with my uncle Dale and my aunt Jen and the kids. It was good to chat with everyone. They had just come from where we were going. Kind of ironic. We talked about their trip and enjoyed Souper Salad in Boise. We had a good time catching up and saying goodbye and good luck to Taylor before she headed off to school in Utah.

Baker City was dark when we got there, so there wasn't much to look at other than a ton of antique stores and chocolate shops that were closed. If you ever go there, DO NOT stay at the Knights inn. Aweful place to sleep. It's dirty and the beds are hard. The internet didn't work either. To top it off, we had to use bottled water for everything because the water was contaminated with something that caused severe diarrhea. We are used to that now, but in the states it was a little bit of a shock. Maybe a fluke, but I would not recommend it. It was a good half-way point for us because we were going to seattle the next day.
